경북대, 전일제 박사과정생 등록금 전액 장학금 지원

경북대학교는 2025학년도 2학기부터 전일제 박사과정생 및 석·박사통합과정생에게 등록금 전액을 장학금으로 지원하는 제도를 시행한다. 이는 전일제 대학원생이 안정적인 환경에서 학업과 연구에 전념할 수 있도록 실질적인 지원을 제공하며, 연구 중심 대학으로의 전환과 글로벌 학문 경쟁력 강화를 위한 전략적 조치다.
장학금은 대학원 시스템에 전일제 등록을 완료한 박사과정 및 석·박사 통합과정생에게 지급되며, 대부분의 수혜자가 등록금 전액 지원의 혜택을 받는다.
경북대는 이번 장학제도를 통해 대학원생의 재정 부담을 사실상 해소하고, 연구 역량이 뛰어난 전일제 인재를 적극적으로 유치함으로써, 지역을 넘어 세계 수준의 연구 인재 양성 기반을 구축할 계획이다.
이안수 경북대 학생처장은 “이번 장학제도는 글로컬 대학과 RISE 사업을 추진하는 거점 국립대로서의 경북대가 연구 중심 글로벌 대학으로 도약하기 위한, 견고한 토대가 될 것”이라며, “앞으로도 대학원생들이 연구에 몰입할 수 있는 환경 조성을 위해 지속적으로 노력하겠다.”라고 밝혔다.
Kyungpook National University to Offer Full Scholarships for Full-Time Ph.D. Students
Kyungpook National University (KNU) announced that starting in the second semester of the 2025 academic year, it will implement a system to provide full tuition scholarships to full-time Ph.D. students and integrated master's-Ph.D. students. This initiative aims to offer practical support, allowing full-time graduate students to dedicate themselves to their studies and research in a stable environment. It also represents a strategic move to transform KNU into a research-focused university and strengthen its global academic competitiveness.
The scholarships will be awarded to Ph.D. and integrated master's-Ph.D. students who complete full-time registration in the graduate school system, with most recipients benefiting from full tuition coverage.
Through this scholarship program, KNU plans to effectively alleviate the financial burden on graduate students and actively attract talented full-time individuals with strong research capabilities. This will establish a foundation for nurturing world-class research talent, extending beyond the local region.
Lee Ahn-soo, Dean of Student Affairs at KNU, remarked, "This scholarship system will serve as a solid foundation for Kyungpook National University, a flagship national university driving the 'Glocal University' and 'RISE' projects, to leap forward as a research-oriented global university." He added, "We will continue our efforts to create an environment in which graduate students can fully immerse themselves in research."
